Holidays and such

So what is this? It is the beginning of November and already Christmas decorations have been out for a month almost. Since when do people decorate for Halloween but then worry about Christmas at the same time?
Since when did Thanksgiving just become the day you have a big dinner and actually have a reason to have the entire family in one spot without TV?
It is sad when one of the most important holidays of our history just gets thrown aside as a day that is just in the way of Christmas.
It is also that all holidays have lost their meaning over time, now they are just ways to spend money on something pointless and make money for Hallmark for their cards that are overpriced. I am not saying that I don’t enjoy a present on Christmas, but do people know the true meaning of it. I am not religious in any way, but seriously it is still nice to know.
What about Easter, any other holiday?
Now Halloween has had its meaning changed up from a ‘satanic’ day to a fun day of scaring people and candy and scary movies.
It would be nice to actually know that some people out there still know the history of these days, and know what they mean.

Here is another thing that gets me… the fact that in schools, you cannot decorate anymore for Halloween or Christmas because people do not believe in it. That is great and all, but a majority of people that go there, DO. I remember being in elementary school and we could decorate our classroom for Christmas, and it was fun. When I got to high school, I had found out that they couldn’t anymore because some parents believed it was putting religion into classrooms and they didn’t believe in it.
How exactly does decorating for Christmas mean that you are religious?
Christmas isn’t even celebrated anymore to the true meaning. Now unless the teacher was putting crosses and such in the room and making the students prey, then that is different.
But seriously, parents lighten up a little. Don’t get all bet out of shape over things like that. Worry more about the school systems screwing up and losing money everyday. Or your kids taking drugs or having sex before even turning 15.
There are so many more things to worry about that actually have more meaning to them. Look outside the box a little more.
