Why is it surprising that the box office is suffering? It isn’t in one bit that it is suffering; look at how many movies come out in one week. At least three movies a week are released and they expect them to do well. Some movies that deserve the attention end up getting the worse end of the box office because of bigger movies or the blockbuster of the month.
Here is the problem: firstly, the prices of movie tickets have gone up too high in the past few years, that it turns people away from wanting to see more movies or a movie more then once. You have the bump up fee for 3D movies, Imax and Imax movies and people don’t want to pay more prices and the bump up fee. But then here the second: 3D movies are a good way to make a little more cash, but when you come out with post production conversion of 3D like the crap that was My Soul To Take and Clash of The Titans then you turn people away from wanting to see more 3D movies. You need more movies like Avatar and Tron to bring in the audience. Putting both those into consideration here is a better solution that will help, STOP releasing so many movies at once like it is going out of style, it will if you don’t stop. When you release more then two movies a week then a problem is that people cant decide on what they would rather spend $20 to go see and then they cant decide some end up not going. Normal pay is weekly so some people put aside some money to go see a movie a week, if less movies came out a week and prices went down a little bit, more people would go see the movies, possibly even more then once.
Last year Sex and the City 2 came out, it didn’t do to bad, but because the budget was $100 million, it didn’t come even, it only made $98 million. They expected it to better because the first one made $100 million plus in 2008. Expectations need to be brought down a little, and the budgets of movies need to be less so that movies have a chance to make some money.
Another problem there is now, sequels and remakes. There are so many reboots and sequels and remakes, no one wants to see something that has already been done before. Especially if it is a reboot of a remake based off of a book. Either come up with new stuff, or if you cant, STOP making so many movies and pace yourself so that more can be done later down the road.
There should not be a month where studios dump the movies they think will do bad. That is not right and not fair. If you don’t think a movie will be good, don’t make it, or make it better. A movie is to entertain people, to escape one world and go to another. If it doesn’t look like it is good, make it better then you will make more money and not go into the hole, which is where MGM went wrong.
If these were to be followed by movie studios, it would help so much and give more chance to movies that wouldn’t in a normal basis.

Music and Bieber
Music has changed a lot in the past twenty or so years. There are so many different types now to satisfy any person of any taste. I couldn’t even begin to get into detail about the types that alone would take a whole paragraph.
The point of this blog is about music and people’s taste though. How if there is a certain type a person doesn’t like they make it known very well. Which is all good and grand, it is just when you rub into someone who enjoys it and makes it seem like it is crap even though that is just your opinion.
Let me take for example, pop music. A lot likes it, but there are some that cannot stomach it. They prefer the more acoustic type of music, or rock. Which is great, but don’t make people who like it feel like they aren’t smart just because they listen to it. Just because you prefer the guitar with no added technology then ok, but that doesn’t make you smarter. If you say that you don’t like it because they don’t have talent and they just mess with the voices to make themselves sound better, then that is a reason. You don’t like that, ok; but the beats still are catchy and people like it, just don’t listen to it.
But there are some out there that don’t do that; Justin Bieber is one of them. He can actually sing without added humph to his voice. He can perform in concert and not pull a Ashley Simpson, he can play all kinds of instruments and put on a show. Yes the craze with some of the fans is extreme, sometimes too much; but look back in the past at other musicians. Michael Jackson, his fans were crazy about him; you can even go back to the Beetles. When they were first starting not many people knew of them, but once they hit stardom, they had crazed fans who loved them, mostly girls. Elvis is another one that had girls screaming for him. So why is that because Bieber has crazed fans also he is stupid or retarded?
You may not like his music, you may not think he is cute, but he is talented. He maybe one of the only few artists that actually can perform these days. While his fans may get a little out of control, you cant hold that against him, just remember that even back in the 50s and 60s, fans did the same thing.
I personally enjoy all kinds of music; I like rock to pop to the indie stuff. But sometimes the indie stuff gets a little annoying, as does the pop stuff. But it is all on taste and people need to understand that. While there are some untalented people out there that somehow get careers while the ones that actually try and do good music get crap.
Sometimes people just need to explore and actually look into artists before you make an opinion about them.

Another Relationship one
So here is something that has been on my mind for some time now… relationships.
Not the pregnancy one I did awhile back, but just flat out relationships. Why is that now a days we rely on internet for finding someone, or even the fact that we have to publicly announce it. That when you are in a relationship, you have to go right on to Facebook or Myspace and quickly change your status. WHO cares?! Like seriously, is your life or your friends life so boring that you have to check up every 2 seconds?
I know I am also guilty of checking Facebook more than once a day, but I look at the stupid things people post, I ignore the ‘oh my life is crap,’ and the stuff about the relationship status. That is their own life, and if they want to share with you what happened then let them.
Now with that said, of course when you are dating someone or married, eventually change it of course, but don’t be the one who stops everything to go on there right when it happens to change it. Or don’t be the one that checks up on the other to make sure it is changed. That means sitting there the next day checking to make sure their BF or GF has changed their status. It isn’t an official thing meaning that because you change it means you ARE for SURE dating; it is just to show others when YOU change it.
The whole ‘Its Complicated thing’ isn’t a status, you are either dating or not; there is no in between. If you are fighting, ok; couples fight, it keeps relationships together when you work it out. If you cant work it out then it isn’t meant to be. If you are taking a ‘break’ then you are technically single cause one of you is bound to date someone else in that time.
There probably is a reason for ‘its complicated’ but so far not one that can be seen.

Pregnancy and marriage
So I thought long about this, I am going to change the blog title. Some will get it, some will not.
So you know What Really Grinds My Gears...
the fact that almost everyone I went to school with or is around my age group, is either married, getting married or pregnant or already have kids.
If you are younger then 25, don't have a job, didn't finish high school or start college, you DO NOT NEED KIDS or TO BE MARRIED!!
kids hold you back, they get in the way and they take time and effort to have. They are great to have when YOU ARE READY to make a family... not just because you feel that you are a good mother and think you need some just to have a reason in life or to stay with your boyfriend. If that;s what it takes to feel alive then just take this knife and end cause that is not the answer. If you boyfriend doesn't want to stay with you and that is the only reason he would, then you don't need him in your life.
Kids are something that take time, money and patience; and you are automatically someone they will look up to when they are older. So, if you in high school and you get pregnant, GET RID OF IT! Abortion or adaption, there are people out there that will adopt because they cannot have kids of their own.
There are just too many kids being born that shouldn't be. Pretty soon we will be like China, and we cant handle that as a country. Since there are more and more people here, more and more cars are driven causing more and more pollution, more and more gas used, just so many effects by it.
But that is not the only reason. Why must you feel that it deems necessary to have a kid or get married when you aren't ready?
Think of this...
you are in high school, trying to finish it so you can move on in life and make something of yourself. You meet someone you like maybe even love, that is great. But, don't get to this point. You love them so that you think you need nothing else. You end up ditching school because you want to spend more time with that person, you then don't graduate, then you don't get a good job, then you cant support yourself and then you end up having a kid; two kids; you cant do anything with your friends whom are your age because you have to either work or take care the kids.
I blame MTV; they have shows about teenage moms that get pregnant and they show their lives. So they are basically saying, hey if you have a kid at 16, you get a tv show, so what do they do then, get pregnant.
I am not saying this is the only things that promotes it, but it is part of the problem. It is the fact the kids think that they should have sex at an early age now. I met two 13 year old who said they had been together for a year. Seriously??!!
then you have kids age 18, 19 or even 20 who think it is time to get married. NO!!!
yes it is OK to date, but you don't make that decision until you are settled in life, until YOU know who YOU are.
You can learn about someone in less then a year, but it takes your entire life to know yourself.
So a person you date now is someone who is different when you marry.
So this is my final thought...
take time to get to know you, date someone but don't make it all your life just yet. Finish school, go to college, see where YOUR life goes and see if your life will mesh with the others future also. If it doesn't, continue your life and until you find someone who fits in that void. Don't just try and fit a puzzle piece in a spot and smash it in till it fits. Cause all it does then is make the picture incomplete and mixed.
Same goes with kids. Wait till you are ready and not just when you think you are ready. They are two different things. So make a good example for when you do end up having them. Finish school do your life, then work on starting your children life by showing them how to do it right so they have a good life. Instead of showing them that it is OK to not go to school just because you thought you loved someone.
Now this does not go for everyone, there are few couples who are ready to marry, who are ready to have kids. And if you are then that is awesome, but just be sure you are though.
(I know this blog will upset a few people who read it. Just keep in mind that I take real life situations and tell the real life solutions. Do not take it that I am attacking any of you in particular.)

Holidays and such
So what is this? It is the beginning of November and already Christmas decorations have been out for a month almost. Since when do people decorate for Halloween but then worry about Christmas at the same time?
Since when did Thanksgiving just become the day you have a big dinner and actually have a reason to have the entire family in one spot without TV?
It is sad when one of the most important holidays of our history just gets thrown aside as a day that is just in the way of Christmas.
It is also that all holidays have lost their meaning over time, now they are just ways to spend money on something pointless and make money for Hallmark for their cards that are overpriced. I am not saying that I don’t enjoy a present on Christmas, but do people know the true meaning of it. I am not religious in any way, but seriously it is still nice to know.
What about Easter, any other holiday?
Now Halloween has had its meaning changed up from a ‘satanic’ day to a fun day of scaring people and candy and scary movies.
It would be nice to actually know that some people out there still know the history of these days, and know what they mean.
Here is another thing that gets me… the fact that in schools, you cannot decorate anymore for Halloween or Christmas because people do not believe in it. That is great and all, but a majority of people that go there, DO. I remember being in elementary school and we could decorate our classroom for Christmas, and it was fun. When I got to high school, I had found out that they couldn’t anymore because some parents believed it was putting religion into classrooms and they didn’t believe in it.
How exactly does decorating for Christmas mean that you are religious?
Christmas isn’t even celebrated anymore to the true meaning. Now unless the teacher was putting crosses and such in the room and making the students prey, then that is different.
But seriously, parents lighten up a little. Don’t get all bet out of shape over things like that. Worry more about the school systems screwing up and losing money everyday. Or your kids taking drugs or having sex before even turning 15.
There are so many more things to worry about that actually have more meaning to them. Look outside the box a little more.

Opinions
Here is some thing that has been urcking me a lot lately. It is people’s opinions. Now I am not saying that your opinions are worthless or that you need to shut up, cause I voice mine also, it is just when you say your opinion and you bitch slap anyone with something opposite from yours.
Let us say, for example, you are Democratic, that is great; you have opinions different from others. Do not talk about politics AT ALL unless you can listen to other people of what they have to say also. I hate when people try to have a conversation about politics but one person will be like ‘well I do not agree with that, I will not listen to this you are wrong,’ that is when I want to slap them. You just need to keep your mouth shut at all times if you can’t even talk to people and DISCUSS something.
I have been hearing people on radio, news or in person that America isn’t a great country, that they hate it. Well then fucking leave. If you think this place is so horrible and other places are better like Russia or China, then go, have fun. I will agree that we aren’t exactly the best place, but it is free, all we have to do is voice out and fix it. The problems are mostly the fact that some freedoms are slowly being taken away, almost to the point that we will have the government watching everything and in control of everything. It will be like back when Hitler controlled the media in Nazi Germany. Also, the fact that gay couples cannot get married and are still discriminated against and their lives are ruled by if a certain prop gets passed or doesn’t get passed. While there are certain aspects about America that must be fixed, it is still a great place to live, if you don’t like it, GET THE FUCK OUT!
(Pardon the language in this post, but I am only expressing myself with anger.)
Now on the lighter side, if you have an opinion about movies, back them up with something. Don’t say, oh I won’t see that – why? – cause I just wont – why? – cause… I wont – but it is great, you may like it – oh well
I hate that, either give a movie a chance and then judge it, or have a VERY good reason to it other then ‘just cause’.
So all in all, if you have an opinion, be nice about it, be respectable to others of theirs and you shall receive the same in return. So if you do not like Justin Beiber, but you have a friend that does, don’t lose a friend just cause you don’t like him, or if you don’t agree with other things.

Anime... The True Insider
The following rant will probably piss some people off, but remember, you can always voice your OPINION also. With that in mind, though, if you are to voice it, always be sure to have sources or anything like that with your view.
This rant is about Anime and Directors Cut or Unrated versions.
Before I continue, what is the difference between a 'Directors Cut' and an Unrated version? Well an Unrated version will usually have things that would have made the movie X or NC-17 as we call it these days. While a Directors Cut will be basically what the director wanted.
What is Anime?
This is basically a cartoon that comes from Japan.
Now, with that out of the way, why must I rant about these things?
Well for one thing, there is a heated argument that I have run into with many people about anime and it being dubbed. When it is brought to America, American voice actors will dub their voice over the originals so that us illiterate Americans will not have to read the subtitles.
The argument is, when it is dubbed, words and sentences are changed so that the meaning or the fluency of the dialogue will flow better. Hardcore Anime nerds say that it is horrible and that it should not be done because it ruins the original work.
How?
Does it change the ending?
Does it change ANY events when it is being dubbed?
If not, then why does it matter?
“Oh well this is not the word that was used originally”
SO WHAT?!
Is the scene the same... is it the same concept??
Why does it matter?
Now if the story was to be completely changed, or scenes changed, then I could see why it was such a big deal. But if you like to read the subtitles, then go for it, but if you still like watching but don't really wanna read it then oh well. You shouldn't be forced to.
I do not care either way, I will read it or dub it. Sometimes if I haven't seen it before, I will watch with subtitles, but sometimes if I have, then I will have the dub on so that I can do other things and still know what is going on.
Now when this argument comes up, I am told that I will never know what they mean. Well I am here to tell you I do. I feel that Directors Cuts of movies are better... BUT not always. For example: Halloween 2, the remake, in theaters SUCKED! But on the director cut, it was a completely different movie. The first remake, so much better. It was, in fact, that if you had not seen the directors cut of the first, you would not have gotten the second.
It is all on opinion and perspective and taste. Just like with everything, some people like certain food while others do not; some people like scary movies, and others do not; some people like the directors version, some do not. Some people do not like subtitles, others do.
This rant is not to bash on anime, I happen to enjoy some; it is more so that anyone who thinks that the only way to enjoy it is to watch the original Japanese subtitled, that is your opinion; or anyone who thinks that the directors cut of, say, Death Proof is worse the then theatrical; that is your opinion.
Just a side note, Unrated Versions (since I mentioned them above but never elaborated on them) are just a way to convince you to buy the movie more. Sometimes there are better things added, sometimes only 15 Sec are added in. but the good side is that the special features are better.
